Tri-City Ecology Center considers environmental education as essential for the success of future generations.
- TCEC maintains an office and resource center at 3375 Country Drive in Fremont. It is open Thursday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm or by appointment
- Eco-Logic, our newsletter, has been informing our members and the community about local and regional environmental issues since 1971
- The TCEC website provides the community with updated information, enviro-links, and volunteer opportunities
- TCEC focuses on schools with our outreach programs, including art education, garden grants and teaching units
- Our book donation program to the Tri-City public libraries is an annual tradition. Each year, since 1972, we have donated $1,000 worth of environmental books and videos to the libraries and schools
- TCEC participates in community events as an important component of our education program
- TCEC networks with other groups around the Bay to coordinate environmental education efforts and clean up and improve our natural areas
- TCEC serves as an information resource for newspapers and other communication media
- TCEC educates the community about compostable serving ware

Waste Hero
Waste Hero – Reduce to Zero Educational Materials Created by experts and educators together.
Waste Hero: Reduce to Zero is a free global zero waste education program with the aim to educate 1 million people by 2030 on recycling fundamentals, creating zero waste, and how to build a circular economy. Waste Hero consists of 19 free lesson plans and workshops for K-12 and university level students. The lessons are designed to be engaging and fun, but also action oriented for young learners to apply the principals of the circular economy in both the classroom and in their community.
